T + S In love session with Candice

So, like many mornings we are privileged to meet with "newer" photographers in our area. We usually get the email saying, "hey i am a new photographer, can I take you out to coffee". And usually we can fit it into our schedule. We L.O.V.E  doing these meetings. They are super fun, and we get to know new people who are interested in the same things we are.... camera's.  This morning we met with Emily and her husband. During the meeting I found myself saying the same sentence over and over again, so I thought I would share this simple, but pivotal point in the conversation.  Emily asks,  "how did you get to where you are today?" I reply (candice), practice. We take over 1000 photos a week, on our own time. If we don't have a payed gig (wedding, E-session, Boudoir) that week we will set up shoots with friends, or family members. Mark and I ALWAYS have a camera in our hands, or at least we try!"  Probably to most you readers this is an obvious statement, so my question is why do we not all do this?

It is so hard to find the time to take 1000 pictures a week, but i had to make time. And it actually turned out easier then I had expected with all the client appointment we had lined up.  I wanted to share a shoot I did this past week for some great friends of ours from Oregan. They are super duper cute, and they can model like nobodies business. Here are a few of my 1000 images from this week......

fun shoot! Do these people naturally know how to "work it" in front of the camera? Or, do you bring that out in them?

Hey, thanks for your comment on my wedding...it was my first and seeing as how I had to shoot with a PandS I thought it definitely could have been better.

1000 photos a week?!? I think I'm doing good if I do ONE personal session a week! I use to take my camera around everywhere but ran into a few problems. I only shoot with primes, so I felt as though I had to take my lenses around also. AND, my camera is heavy and I can't find a bag I like to take it everywhere!

You have inspired me though, I need to quit saying that I'm going to take it everywhere and actually DO it!! Thanks for that.

As far as these pictures go, they totally ROCK! I love the sense of style in them!!

I love the 1000 images per week idea. I am just getting started in weddings and lifestyle photography, and my question has always been how to "get there". Shooting 1000/week will let me get practice, practice, & more practice! Thanks for the inspiration!
